This pattern includes ii babe sizes, designed without separate thumbs. Size A for approx. 6-12 months, and Size B for approx. 12-xviii months. A sizing chart with measurements will be given below.

You will demand some aran/worsted weight #4 yarn for these mittens. Your choice of main color and an accent color for the cuffs.

Working the Spiked Moss Stitch Pattern:
The Moss Stitch (aka the Granite Sew, Linen Stitch, or Woven Stitch) is fabricated by working a Single Crochet followed by Chain 1 and skipping 1 forth the row, turning and repeating the pattern working into the Chain 1 Spaces of the previous row.

Seaming the Infant mittens
Using the long tail end of the mitten, fold the the mitten in half so that the Right Side is on the inside, adjustment the side edge.
Whip run up along the meridian edge towards the fold going 2 rows deep to take hold of the tops of the skipped stitches of the second row downwardly (check there are no gaps by flipping it inside out).
Whip stitch back along the top edge, and then go along down the side border of the mitten. Tie the tail and starting terminate together to secure. Weave in ends.
Using the long tail of the cuff section, seam the edges of the gage past whip stitching through the back loops of the hdc stitches and the base of the starting chain. Secure and weave in ends.
Flip the Right Side out and plough up the cuff to finish.
Repeat for the other mitten.
